Autumn teaching
On this module, you’ll:
- examine the role of media industries and communication practices in shaping our understanding of sustainability
- gain an understanding of how media constructs public perceptions and drives sustainable actions
- cover topics from sustainable development goals to marketing
- explore key debates and the media’s impact both in its representations of social and environmental issues and its own operational sustainability.
You’ll learn to develop sustainability campaigns and communication strategies and gain in-depth theoretical knowledge that you can apply to purposeful work. Ultimately, you’ll sharpen your critical skills to analyse the power dynamics and technologies at play in mediating sustainability. This will prepare you for work in this vital field.
We regularly review our modules to incorporate student feedback, staff expertise, as well as the latest research and teaching methodology. We’re planning to run these modules in the academic year 2026/27.
