Βι¶ΉΣ³» Pakistani Scholarship
The University offers a £3,000 tuition fee reduction for new postgraduate students who have Pakistani nationality, are classed as ’overseas’ for fees purposes and have been accepted to study an eligible Masters course at Βι¶ΉΣ³».

Situated on the edge of a national park and located just a few minutes away from one of the most vibrant cities in the UK, Βι¶ΉΣ³» has it all.
Support for international students
Βι¶ΉΣ³» has teams dedicated to helping you make the most of your time at university. They can provide:

- guidance with searching for part-time jobs
- support with finding accommodation
- help to improve your English language and writing skills.
Food and culture
You can buy international products from our weekly on-campus market and .
Brighton also has a number of popular halal grocery shops and , ranging from Moroccan to Lebanese.
Religion
We have a Muslim Student Centre and a Muslim prayer facility on campus, and there is a coptic church and two mosques in Brighton.
Email the Islamic Society at isoc@ussu.sussex.ac.uk if you are going to bring your children and you want to enrol them in a school that teaches Arabic.
Clubs and societies

Βι¶ΉΣ³» is home to 40 sports clubs, with many represented on a national level.
Holi, organised by the South Asian Students’ Society, is one of the most popular activities on campus each year.
The Politics Society regularly hosts debates with key political figures.
Βι¶ΉΣ³» has a range of international societies. The Italian Society (pictured) go for trips to local Italian restaurants.
Βι¶ΉΣ³» has several performance societies where you can learn and showcase your dance and theatre skills (Swing Dance Society pictured).
Several musical societies, including the Folk Music Society (pictured) operate on campus.
Islamic Society (Isoc)
The Islamic Society is one of Βι¶ΉΣ³»’s most active societies, providing religious and social support services during your time at university.
The Islamic Society provides:
- free Iftar every day after sunset at the Muslim Student Centre
- Tarawih Prayer every day after Iftar
- breakfast at the Muslim Student Centre on the Eid following Ramadan.

Alumni and careers
A degree from Βι¶ΉΣ³» is internationally recognised and our Pakistani alumni have gone on to do incredible things.
Notable alumni include Shamshad Akhtar, appointed by the UN Secretary-General as United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific in December 2013.
Dr Akhtar also served as Governor of the Central Bank of Pakistan from 2006 to 2009; Vice President of the World Bank’s Middle East and North Africa Region; and held a range of senior posts in the Asian Development Bank.

Muhammad’s story
Muhammad’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation degree at Βι¶ΉΣ³» led to him creating Meraki, a self-help journal designed to spread awareness of mental health in his local community.
