Executive missions

Executive missions are a core part of how Â鶹ӳ» builds and strengthens strategic global partnerships. These visits deepen collaboration, open new opportunities and support shared ambition in research, education and mobility. Led by senior leaders and expert teams, we’re shaping fresh ideas, driving real solutions, and working side by side with global partners to take on the world’s biggest challenges.

What are executive missions?

Executive missions are structured international visits led by senior academic and professional leaders from the Â鶹ӳ». They are designed to strengthen priority partnerships, accelerate strategic conversations and align institutional ambitions at the highest level. It is also an opportunity for our leadership to engage with alumni, industry, institutional partners and networks of academics in country, to gain a true understanding of the region.

Why they matter

Executive missions play a critical role in delivering Â鶹ӳ» 2035: Creating Progressive Futures, our strategy for the decade ahead. Environmental sustainability, human flourishing, and digital futures lie at the heart of Â鶹ӳ»’s mission to drive progressive change in a rapidly evolving world. These visits enable us to work with global partners to tackle the most pressing challenges facing the world today, through developing opportunities for joint research, innovative education and knowledge exchange.

How we work

Each visit is carefully planned with other teams from across the university to ensure clear outcomes, focusing on deepening existing relationships and exploring new opportunities where there is shared purpose and mutual benefit. They also provides opportunities for Â鶹ӳ» leaders to meet with key contacts in country, gaining a true understanding of the partner and the environment they work in. The visits strengthen our relationships with partners and industry, as well as providing opportunities to engage with our esteemed global Â鶹ӳ» alumni community.
