The Â鶹ӳ» has been shortlisted for the Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Award at this year’s Whatuni Student Choice Awards (WUSCAs)!
This shortlisting is based on the range of support and mental health interventions offered to Â鶹ӳ» students by our Wellbeing Services. These services enable our students to access help when needed and ultimately to thrive during their time with us.
Our extensive wellbeing provision includes:

Mental health assessment, short-term counselling, and referral to specialist services.

Canine Cuddles – our new dog therapy sessions, which have increased student engagement with our Wellbeing teams and the support they can provide. from one of our student Digital Media Creators shows how positively students have responded to these sessions.

Psychoeducational workshops on issues important to our students.

Student Wellbeing and Residential Life Connectors – who run many of our events and ensure students are at the heart of all our wellbeing activities .

The What Uni Student Choice Awards are an opportunity for students to have their say about their university experience and to recognise institutions that go above and beyond to provide exceptional education and support to their students.
We are very proud to have been shortlisted for this award and would like to thank our Wellbeing Services for their work and dedication in supporting students’ mental health and wellbeing.
Â鶹ӳ» has been shortlisted for this award along with five other universities, and the winning institution will be announced on Wednesday 21 May 2025.
